Small Choices I Make for a More Eco-Conscious Business
Sustainability matters to me, and I try to practice it thoughtfully, one small choice at a time. Running a massage and yoga practice involves using products, linens, and materials every day, and while it isn’t always possible to be completely zero-waste, I do what I can to make my business more eco-conscious.
Cleaning & Laundry
Even small choices in cleaning can make a difference. I use eco-laundry detergent and washable microfibre cloths, reducing the need for single-use fabrics. For my cleaning products, I buy in bulk with minimal packaging and take part in Miniml’s closed-loop system — returning empties to be cleaned, refilled, and reused instead of discarded. These steps help me reduce waste while keeping my studio safe and clean for clients.
Linens, Massage & Materials
I try to make mindful choices with everything I use during sessions. Linens are used until worn, then donated rather than discarded. Massage oils are bought in larger containers to reduce single-use packaging. Lamps in my studio use rechargeable batteries, and all intake forms are fully electronic and paper-free. These choices are small, but together they reflect the values I want to bring into my work.
Practicing Sustainability with Care
Sustainability is important to me, and I try to incorporate more eco-conscious choices wherever I can. I know it’s not always feasible, but I make thoughtful decisions to tread more lightly on the planet. For me, it isn’t about perfection — it’s about intention, mindfulness, and gentle care in every aspect of my practice.
