How Often Should I Get a Massage?

Sometimes clients ask me how often I recommend getting a massage—whether it’s for easing muscle tension, supporting recovery, or simply for relaxation. And honestly, the answer isn’t one-size-fits-all.

In a perfect world, we could book massages whenever we wanted, as often as our hearts desired. But life doesn’t always allow for that, and everyone’s body and needs are different. Some people feel best with frequent sessions, while others are happy to come only when it feels necessary.

What I always encourage is tuning into your body. After a massage, take a moment to notice how you feel. Pay attention to any shifts in tension, mood, or energy. That awareness will naturally guide you toward a frequency that suits you.

For many of my regular clients, once a month turns out to be the sweet spot. It’s frequent enough to release tension and support overall wellbeing, yet flexible enough to fit into a busy life. If you’re interested in coming on a recurring basis, I’m happy to work with you—and your budget—to find a rhythm that keeps you feeling consistently supported.

Massage isn’t just a reactive tool for easing tension as it arises. It can be a mindful part of your self-care practice, a chance to slow down, reconnect with your body, and nurture both body and mind. Paying attention to how you feel afterward helps you discover the massage rhythm that works best for you—and that can be a truly empowering way to care for yourself.
